Objective: To provide detailed information about iron and steel production technologies; blast furnace and basic oxygen furnace type steelmaking
Content: Preparation of iron ores, ore dressing, sintering and pelletizing, reduction of iron oxides, bosh and hearth reactions, slag formation, blast furnace operating practice, treatment of hot metal, other methods of iron production. Description of steelmaking process, C-O reactions, S, P, N, H in steelmaking, DRI (sponge iron) production and its use in steelmaking, alloy steelmaking, deoxidation, ladle metallurgy, principles and technologies of continuous casting methods
